Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the percentage of Non-Hispanic White Alone households in the United States with household income of less than $40k was 25.97%. Among all US states and DC, West Virginia had the highest percentage of Non-Hispanic White Alone households with household income of less than $40k (39.87%), followed by Arkansas (36.09%), and Kentucky (35.56%). On the other hand, the following 3 states had low percentages of Non-Hispanic White Alone households with household income of less than $40k: District of Columbia (8.33%), Maryland (17.72%), and New Jersey (18.66%).
