Among all US states and DC, West Virginia had the highest percentage of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k (39.87%), followed by Arkansas (36.12%), and Kentucky (35.62%). On the other hand, the following 3 states had low percentages of White Alone households with household income of less than $40k: District of Columbia (8.93%), Maryland (17.78%), and Alaska (19.87%).
