District of Columbia Household Income Distribution in 2021 (ACS-5Yrs)

Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, among the 310,104 households, there were 65,358 households (21.08%) that had a household income that fell in the $200K - and Over category, and there were 31,658 households (10.21%) that had a household income that fell in the $150K - Less $200K category.

On the other hand, there were 76,177 households (24.57%) that had a household income that fell in the Less $40K category, and there were 14,662 households (4.73%) that had a household income that fell in the $40K - Less $50K category.

The chart below shows a subset of the percentages of households for the different household income categories. The table below shows both the number and percentages for many more household income categories.
