Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, 1,079,253 out of 8,157,420 Florida households received Food Stamps or SNAP in the last 12 months (i.e. 13.23% of Florida households).
By Race: As a percentage of the total number of households that received SNAP or Food Stamps, the White Alone racial group constituted 54.08%; the Black Alone racial group constituted 27.41%, and the Two or More Races racial group constituted 11.35%.
By Ethnicity: As a percentage of the total number of households that received Food Stamps or SNAP, the Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group constituted 33.27%, and the Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group constituted 36.56%.
Percentage of Each Racial Group's Households that Received SNAP: 9.81% of White Alone households received Food Stamps or SNAP; 26.48% of Black Alone households received SNAP; and 19.76% of Two or More Races households received SNAP.
