According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average weekly wage for the United States in 2005 Q2 was $751. Among all US states and DC, District of Columbia had the highest average weekly wage ($1,234), followed by Connecticut ($945), and Massachusetts ($916).

On the other hand, South Dakota had the lowest average weekly wage ($540), followed by Montana ($553), and Mississippi ($556).
