According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May 2004, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Cleveland-Akron, OH was 181.3 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 4.8%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 40.3%
  2. Food away from home: 4.7%
  3. Food at home: 2.6%
