According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in May 2005, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Cleveland-Akron, OH was 186.8 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 6.7%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Household energy: 15.7%
  2. Food away from home: 5.2%
  3. Alcoholic beverages: 4.6%
