According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in August 2003, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, MI was 183.6 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 4.9%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  2. Household energy: 13.3%
