According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in April 2013, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, TX was 207.506 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 2.9%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  2. Rent of primary residence: 4.7%
