According to data from the US BLS, in July 2016, the United States Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Midwest - Size Class A was 227.157 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 0.5%% (not seasonally adjusted). The Food away from home item had the highest 12-month percent change or inflation rate (3.0%), followed by Owners' equivalent rent of residences (3.0%), and Rent of primary residence (2.5%).
