According to data from the US BLS, in July 2016, the United States Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Northeast - Size Class A was 258.345 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 1.0%% (not seasonally adjusted). The Food away from home item had the highest 12-month percent change or inflation rate (2.9%), followed by Rent of primary residence (2.9%), and Owners' equivalent rent of residences (2.7%).
