According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in April 2004, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue WA was 194.3 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 2.9%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Alcoholic beverages: 6.5%
  2. Motor fuel: 6.1%
  3. Food away from home: 5.7%
