According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in December 2005, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue WA was 200.9 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 5.2%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 15.9%
  2. Household energy: 8.2%
  3. Alcoholic beverages: 6.3%
