According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in June 2005, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue WA was 199.8 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 4.2%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Household energy: 7.6%
  2. Food away from home: 6.8%
  3. Alcoholic beverages: 4.8%
