According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in July 2008, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue WA was 340.455 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 28.2%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Motor fuel: 44%
  2. Rent of primary residence: 8.2%
  3. Food at home: 7.9%
