According to data from the US BLS, in July 2016, the United States Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): South - Size Class A was 236.517 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 1.2%% (not seasonally adjusted). The Rent of primary residence item had the highest 12-month percent change or inflation rate (4.0%), followed by Owners' equivalent rent of residences (3.0%), and Food away from home (2.1%).
