According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in November 2008, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): South - Size Class B/C was 130.324 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 0.6%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Household energy: 10.9%
  2. Food at home: 7.7%
  3. Food away from home: 4.7%
