According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in February 2016, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): South - Size Class B/C was 145.279 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 0.5%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Rent of primary residence: 2.7%
  2. Food away from home: 2.2%
  3. Owners' equivalent rent of residences: 2.2%
