According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in March 2020, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): South - Size Class B/C was 156.768 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 1.0%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Rent of primary residence: 3.9%
  2. Owners' equivalent rent of residences: 3.1%
  3. Tuition, other school fees, and childcare: 2.4%
