According to recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in October 2013, the United States not seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): South - Size Class D was 231.948 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 0.5%. The following item categories had the highest not seasonally adjusted 12-month percent change in CPI-U:

  1. Household energy: 3.7%
  2. Alcoholic beverages: 1.3%
  3. Food at home: 0.4%
