According to data from the US BLS, in July 2016, the United States Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U): Washington-Baltimore, DC-MD-VA-WV was 157.674 and the 12-month percent change (inflation rate) was 1.6%% (not seasonally adjusted). The Household energy item had the highest 12-month percent change or inflation rate (6.3%), followed by Food away from home (5.4%), and Alcoholic beverages (2.0%).
