According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2008:

  1. Massachusetts: 1,100
  2. Indiana: 500
  3. Minnesota: 500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2008:

  1. California: -4,900
  2. Florida: -3,200
