According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2003:

  1. North Carolina: 3,100
  2. Florida: 2,700
  3. Alabama: 2,500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2003:

  1. Illinois: -6,600
  2. Texas: -4,400
  3. New York: -3,000
