According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2004:

  1. California: 18,300
  2. Illinois: 18,300
  3. New York: 16,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2004:

  1. Louisiana: -2,200
  2. Alabama: -600
  3. Oklahoma: 400
