According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2004:

  1. Florida: -800
  2. Louisiana: -800
  3. New Mexico: -1,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2004:

  1. New York: -34,000
  2. Illinois: -31,300
  3. Ohio: -24,300
