According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2006:

  1. South Carolina: 2,300
  2. Louisiana: 1,500
  3. West Virginia: 600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2006:

  1. California: -21,400
  2. Florida: -7,700
  3. Michigan: -4,200
