According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2008:

  1. Louisiana: 1,700
  2. California: 1,600
  3. Oklahoma: 700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2008:

  1. Illinois: -5,100
  2. Michigan: -5,000
  3. New York: -4,800
