According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2008:

  1. Oklahoma: -600
  2. Mississippi: -1,500
  3. Alaska: -1,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Construction industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2008:

  1. California: -47,600
  2. Illinois: -27,500
  3. Florida: -26,600
