According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2004:

  1. Michigan: 42,300
  2. Missouri: 10,500
  3. Kentucky: 8,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2004:

  1. Iowa: -1,500
  2. Kansas: -500
  3. Arkansas: -400
