According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2008:

  1. Michigan: 21,600
  2. Indiana: 6,500
  3. Kentucky: 2,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Durable Goods industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2008:

  1. Kansas: -5,800
  2. California: -4,000
  3. Missouri: -1,400
