According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2002:

  1. California: 600
  2. Pennsylvania: 600
  3. Idaho: 500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2002:

  1. New York: -1,300
  2. Maryland: -1,300
  3. New Jersey: -1,200
