According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. District of Columbia: 2,000
  2. Maryland: 1,200
  3. Oregon: 1,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. New Mexico: -1,100
  2. Georgia: -1,100
  3. Florida: -800
