According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2003:

  1. Missouri: 1,400
  2. Montana: 1,000
  3. Florida: 600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2003:

  1. Maryland: -1,000
  2. Kentucky: -600
  3. New York: -500
