According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2004:

  1. California: 1,100
  2. Georgia: 1,100
  3. Pennsylvania: 800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2004:

  1. New York: -900
  2. Maryland: -900
  3. Virginia: -600
