According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2005:

  1. California: 900
  2. Maryland: 700
  3. Virginia: 700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2005:

  1. Georgia: -800
  2. New Mexico: -700
  3. North Carolina: -500
