According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2007:

  1. District of Columbia: 2,800
  2. Montana: 1,300
  3. Maryland: 1,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2007:

  1. Kansas: -700
  2. Missouri: -600
  3. Kentucky: -300
