According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2012:

  1. California: 1,000
  2. Florida: 900
  3. New York: 600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2012:

  1. Montana: -600
  2. Colorado: -500
  3. Alaska: -500
