According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2013:

  1. Florida: 1,200
  2. California: 1,000
  3. Illinois: 1,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2013:

  1. Oklahoma: -400
  2. District of Columbia: -200
  3. Montana: -100
