According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2013:

  1. Idaho: 500
  2. Montana: 500
  3. Alaska: 300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2013:

  1. New York: -1,700
  2. California: -1,700
  3. Illinois: -1,400
