According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2017:

  1. New Mexico: 300
  2. Arizona: 200
  3. Florida: 200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2017:

  1. California: -1,600
  2. District of Columbia: -1,200
  3. New York: -800
