According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:

  1. California: 38,800
  2. New York: 20,900
  3. Florida: 15,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Federal Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:

  1. Idaho: -300
  2. Maine: 300
  3. North Dakota: 600
