According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2002:

  1. California: 4,100
  2. Florida: 800
  3. Texas: 800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2002:

  1. New York: -700
  2. New Jersey: -600
  3. Virginia: -500
