According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2002:

  1. California: 1,100
  2. South Carolina: 600
  3. Alaska: 100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2002:

  1. New York: -5,800
  2. Massachusetts: -2,000
