According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2003:

  1. Louisiana: 500
  2. New Hampshire: 300
  3. Iowa: 200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2003:

  1. New York: -6,300
  2. California: -4,900
  3. Florida: -4,100
