According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2008:

  1. New York: 2,700
  2. Massachusetts: 800
  3. Georgia: 600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2008:

  1. Florida: -2,300
  2. California: -1,300
  3. Michigan: -1,200
