According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2011:

  1. New York: 4,700
  2. Illinois: 1,300
  3. Michigan: 1,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Finance and Insurance industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2011:

  1. California: -700
  2. New Jersey: -500
  3. Georgia: -300
