According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Financial Activities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2003:

  1. California: 6,000
  2. New York: 3,300
  3. Texas: 2,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Financial Activities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2003:

  1. West Virginia: -200
  2. South Dakota: -100
  3. Colorado: -100
