According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Financial Activities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2008:

  1. Michigan: 2,000
  2. Illinois: 900
  3. Missouri: 900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Financial Activities industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2008:

  1. California: -1,700
  2. Colorado: -900
  3. Florida: -700
