According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. Alaska: 7,800
  2. Oregon: 6,900
  3. Washington: 4,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. Michigan: -18,300
  2. California: -15,900
  3. Texas: -12,700
