According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2002:

  1. California: 17,300
  2. New York: 7,900
  3. Illinois: 7,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Goods Producing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2002:

  1. Vermont: -200
  2. Maine: -200
  3. Montana: -100
